Procedure:
This operation is carried out under local anaesthetic and oral sedation and takes approximately 4-5 hours. The procedure involves incisions placed inconspicuously in the hair of the temple and in the front of the ear and continues behind the ear, hence the “S-lift” followed by the dissection and tightening of the suspensory supporting soft tissue structure of the face and neck – SMAS.
Are you a candidate?
The rate of ageing varies from individual to individual and depends on the person’s genetics. It is inevitable that gravity (ptosis) will affect most of us, along with the loss of volume. If you are experiencing or notice these changes: A flattening or sunken appearance in the mid face area, creases form between the nose and mouth or jowls with loose skin appearing along the jaw line and onto the neck you maybe a suitable candidate.
Downtime:
A minimum of 10 days down time is required. Compression bandages will remain intact for 3-5 days depending on the doctors instructions when removed you may wash and blow-dry your hair. Be gentle near the suture line and be careful not to get hair products on the suture line. Day 7 the sutures will be removed. Generally visible bruising is present for up to 2 weeks.
