IPL Skin Rejuvenation

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

A safe and effective cosmetic treatment that uses gentle pulses of intense optimised light to tackle undesirable pigment and facial capillaries/redness that can occur due to ageing and lifestyle choices.

What Can I Expect?

Intense pulsed light (IPL) refers to a cosmetic skin treatment that uses high-intensity light to address imperfections of the skin.

Each treatment can promote and increase collagen formation. You will see an overall improvement in skin quality and texture after each session.

Your practitioner will use an IPL device to target superficial vascular conditions such as spider veins, port wine stains & redness, as well as pigmentation & freckles on the face, neck, and body.

Most clients see some improvement after the first treatment. For optimal results, 3-5 treatments are usually recommended at 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain results, clients are advised to use an SPF-50 sunblock and avoid direct sun exposure during the treatment period.

Who Is Suitable For This Treatment?

IPL is an effective treatment for people that feel self-conscious about skin issues like pigmentation, broken capillaries, sun damage, age spots, and other skin conditions. The IPL device can be adjusted for different skin types, but this treatment generally works best for people with lighter skin tones.

During your free consultation at b clinic, your clinician will examine the area you want to treat, determine your skin type, and recommend a treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Benefits of IPL Skin Rejuvenation

IPL skin rejuvenation offers several advantages over more invasive cosmetic skin therapies and laser treatments, including:

Fast and Convenient

The intense pulsed light therapy typically requires 30 minutes to perform in clinic. You can easily fit an IPL skin rejuvenation treatment into your schedule without disrupting your personal life and work commitments.

Minimal Downtime

IPL skin rejuvenation can target the dermis’ deeper layers without causing any painful side effects or tell-tale signs of treatment. You may experience mild redness for a day or so after treatment, but this can be concealed with makeup.

Clear Skin

One of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments, IPL skin rejuvenation is effective for a wide range of skin concerns. It can eliminate sun spots, discolouration, rosacea, and other imperfections.

Anti-Ageing

IPL skin rejuvenation penetrates to the deeper layers of your skin, stimulating collagen production to improve the appearance of visible signs of ageing and sun damage. You can address specific signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles and give your entire complexion a rejuvenation.

What Can IPL Skin Rejuvenation Treat?

IPL skin rejuvenation can be used to restore a youthful glow to dull skin and effectively treat a range of skin concerns, including:

  • Age spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Freckles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Acne
  • Redness
  • Broken capillaries (blood vessels)

The non-invasive treatment requires no downtime, and results can be achieved in as little as three sessions.

Is IPL an Effective Treatment for Acne?

Some types of acne can be effectively treated using intense pulsed light skin rejuvenation. Acne is typically caused by bacteria and excessive oil production, blocking hair follicles and pores.

IPL treatments target the sebaceous glands to control oil production, destroy acne-causing bacteria, and stimulate collagen production to improve skin condition and reduce breakouts.

Which Areas Can Be Treated With IPL?

IPL skin rejuvenation is most commonly used to address skin conditions and signs of ageing on the face, but the light-based cosmetic treatment can be used on other areas of the body.

We can also use IPL skin rejuvenation to treat uneven skin tone, capillaries, and other skin concerns on the neck, décolletage, arms, back, and hands.

How Long Does an IPL Session Take?

A session usually takes around 30-45 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. There is little to no downtime associated with this treatment. You can drop by the clinic for a session during your lunch break, immediately apply makeup, and return to work in the afternoon.

How Will I Look Immediately After IPL Skin Rejuvenation?

Most clients have an immediate healthy glow after an IPL skin rejuvenation treatment, similar to how you look after a gym workout.

An effective treatment can include redness and mild swelling for up to 72 hours post-procedure.

In the 10 days following treatment, the pigmented areas of the skin will become temporarily darker before peeling off. This is entirely normal as the body breaks down the melanin that is released by the IPL therapy.

The final results can be seen 2 weeks following treatment. You will notice a visible reduction in discolouration, improved skin tone, and younger-looking skin.

How Often Should You Have IPL Skin Rejuvenation?

The number of treatments required depends on the skin concerns you want to improve. For most clients, a series of 3-5 treatments will be needed to achieve the desired results.

If the treated area is large or has extensive pigmentation, you may require up to 6 sessions to reach your treatment goals. Broken capillaries and fine lines are usually easier to treat.

How Long Will the Results Last?

The longevity of results for IPL skin rejuvenation treatments can vary. For some clients, results are long-lasting, and it can be up to a year before a maintenance treatment is required.

Your clinician will recommend a skin care maintenance plan at your free treatment review. Most clients return to the clinic every 6 months for a follow-up session.

What’s the Difference Between Intense Pulsed Light and Laser Skin Resurfacing?

IPL skin rejuvenation and laser resurfacing have some similarities, but there are also many differences in how the treatment works and the skin concerns they can improve.

Laser resurfacing uses a single wavelength of light targeted to specific areas of your skin, while intense pulsed light (IPL) technology utilises a range of different wavelengths of light energy. Whereas a laser is a focused beam of light, IPL is scattered across a wider area.

Generally, IPL skin rejuvenation is much gentler on the skin, penetrating the dermis’ deeper layers without causing painful damage to the top layers of skin.

Laser resurfacing treatments can be more effective at treating stubborn scarring and deep wrinkles, but there is also a longer recovery time.

Is IPL Painful?

Everybody’s pain tolerance is different, but most clients describe the IPL treatment as a tingling sensation rather than discomfort or pain. After the treatment, you may experience redness that feels similar to a sunburn.

This will last for up to 72 hours and can be treated using a cold gel or ice pack if necessary.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is minimal downtime associated with IPL skin rejuvenation. Unlike more invasive cosmetic treatments, IPL does not damage the upper dermis or result in any blistering or peeling.

You may experience a sensation similar to a mild sunburn post-treatment, but most clients can immediately return to their regular daily routine. Many people drop into the clinic for treatment during their lunch break and return to work without their colleagues noticing any signs of treatment.

How Do I Prepare for IPL Treatment?

You should avoid prolonged sun exposure for a week before treatment and use SPF-50 sun cream to protect your skin from sun damage. We recommend you stop taking any medications or supplements that increase skin sensitivity for a week before treatment. You should also consult your GP if you have any conditions that may prevent you from being a candidate for IPL skin rejuvenation.

Do I Need to Attend a Consultation Before Treatment?

Yes. IPL skin rejuvenation is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure without the risks and side effects associated with more invasive treatments. But it is important that you attend a free consultation with a b clinic practitioner before starting treatment. Your clinician will assess your skin, determine if IPL is right for you, and be able to answer any questions you have about the treatment.

Can I Take a Break After I’ve Started A Treatment Plan?

Yes. We recommend spacing sessions 4-6 weeks apart, but we will always do our best to fit sessions around your work and social commitments. If you are unable to attend a session, please get in touch with us as soon as possible to reschedule.

Possible Risks and Complications

The potential risks and side effects of IPL skin rejuvenation treatments are minimal. IPL is a safe and effective cosmetic procedure. Common side effects can include redness and mild swelling for up to 72 hours post-procedure.

You may also notice the pigmented area becoming darker in the week following IPL treatment. This is a good sign that shows the body is breaking down the melanin that has been released during the IPL therapy.

If a trained clinician does not perform the treatment, rare side effects can include burns and skin scarring. All of our IPL clinicians at b clinic are medically trained professionals with extensive experience in cosmetic laser treatments.

How Much Does Skin Rejuvenation IPL Cost?

The cost of IPL for skin rejuvenation depends on the size of the area treated. A full-face IPL light therapy session starts at $300. Schedule a free consultation with one of our practitioners to determine if IPL is suitable for you and how many sessions you will need to treat your skin issues.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser Tattoo Removal

Removing tattoos takes as much artistry as creating them.

A tattoo used to be forever, but with revolutionary state of the art laser technologies, you can now remove black or coloured tattoo ink safely and affordably.

At b clinic, we use the latest PicoSure and RevLite Q-Switch laser technologies for fast and effective tattoo removal.

Rethink your ink with PicoSure and RevLite laser tattoo removal.

    Starting from $75

How Effective Is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Tattoos deliver ink deep into your skin tissue. Once applied, tattoo ink can be very difficult to remove. However, Advanced Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers have completely changed the game of tattoo removal.

PhotoAcoustic Technology can penetrate the skin and target each ink colour using short pulses of specific laser energy wavelengths. The result is your tattoo starts to fade over several treatments.

PhotoAcoustic Technology can penetrate the skin and target each ink colour using short pulses of specific laser energy wavelengths. The result is your tattoo starts to fade over a number of treatments.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

PicoSure PressureWave technology gently delivers ultra-short energy pulses to your tattoo in a trillionth of a second, protecting the surrounding skin.

It works best on fair to medium untanned skin and can treat almost all tattoos.

If you’ve ever had systemic gold treatment (orally or intravenously), you’re probably not a good candidate for PicoSure treatments.

The RevLite Q-Switched laser treatment delivers maximum success with minimal discomfort for all skin types, including darker skin tones. It features a revolutionary four light wavelengths to target multi-coloured tattoos, including those with vibrant blues, blacks, reds, oranges and purples.

You’ll probably see a temporary whitening after the first treatment.

Then laser system shatters the ink particles into tiny fragments that drain away through your lymphatic system as your skin returns to its normal skin tone and colour.

The PicoSure 755 & 532 wavelength technology is exceptional. But by adding the QSwitch laser with a wavelength of 1064 and combining the science and technology of both lasers’ wavelengths, we can treat all skin types and most popular ink colours at b clinic. It’s the most effective tattoo removal treatment currently available in Australia.

Who Can Benefit From Laser Tattoo Removal?

During your consultation at b clinic, we’ll go through the following 8 clinical steps to accurately determine and meet ALL your tattoo removal expectations.

Diagnostic CHECKLIST

  1. Personal/medical history
  2. Realistic results and expectations
  3. Fitzpatrick skin type
  4. Tanning habits
  5. Position of tattoo
  6. Colour of tattoo
  7. Previous tattoo removal attempts
  8. Amateur or professional.

How Do I Know if I’m a Good Candidate for Tattoo Removal?

The best way to find out if you can have your unwanted tattoo removed is to schedule a free consultation at b clinic.

One of our experienced team of clinicians will examine the area and determine the best treatment option based on your skin tone, skin condition, and the size and colour of the tattoo.

What Can I Expect?

  1. You’ll receive an in-depth consultation before treatment.  Please note you will need a skin check from your GP or sun cancer clinic within the past 12 months.
  2. We’ll ask you to lie or sit on the treatment bed and give you eye protection for your safety.
  3. Some tattoos will require a test patch.

Can Laser Treatment Fully Remove a Tattoo?

The majority of tattoos can be entirely removed using laser treatment.

Larger tattoos will typically require more laser sessions than smaller areas. The colouring of the tattoo will also impact the number of sessions necessary to remove the ink entirely. You may need a course of several tattoo removal treatments to achieve your desired results.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of treatments required depends on the size, colour, ink used, and whether your tattoo is amateur or professional.

Through clinical observation combined with a diagnostic checklist, your clinician will explain how the treatment will work and the expected number of treatments required to remove your tattoo.

This is done during your consultation when we can see your tattoo and give you the best and most accurate advice.

How Long Does a Laser Tattoo Removal Session Take?

Typically, laser tattoo removal takes around 30 minutes in the clinic, while the process itself only takes a few minutes.

Following your treatment, cream and dressings will be applied.

For large tattoos, your clinician may recommend dividing the tattoo up into smaller sections so that any side effects do not impact your lifestyle or other commitments.

You’ll need to take care of the area following treatment, so the size of the treated area must be manageable.

How Long Do I Need To Wait Between Sessions?

It’s important to leave enough time for your body’s immune system to flush away the ink particles between each treatment session.

We recommend a 6-8 weeks gap between each tattoo removal session for most clients.

This time also allows your skin to heal and repair between sessions and reduces the risk of unwanted side effects like hyperpigmentation.

Does Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt?

Depending on the location of the tattoo, this treatment can be uncomfortable.

We use a Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling system that effectively cools the skin before & during the treatment.

We also offer a topical anaesthetic to numb the area before treatment to minimise discomfort.

Is Tattoo Removal Safe?

Laser tattoo removal is very safe.

The laser light energy is attracted to the dark ink particles, so the surrounding tissue is largely unaffected.

Generally, laser tattoo removal is safer than getting a tattoo as there is less risk of infection.

laser tattoo removal

Will Laser Tattoo Removal Leave a Scar?

It’s very rare for laser removal to cause scarring. When performed by a trained practitioner, the risk is very low. However, removing the tattoo can reveal scarring caused by the tattoo artist when the ink was initially applied or unrelated scars concealed by the tattoo.

During your consultation at b clinic, your practitioner will examine your tattoo and skin condition to identify any existing scarring before you decide to proceed with the laser tattoo removal treatment.

Tattoo Removal Aftercare Information

Ointment and a dressing will be applied to the treated area following your treatment. You can remove the dressing  4-hours post-treatment.

You’ll need to reapply the ointment regularly for up to 10 days after removing your dressing and keep the area protected from the sun for the entire course of your treatment to avoid pigmentation problems.

You may experience redness and a raised rash on the tattoo area post-treatment. Applying an ice pack can help to minimise discomfort. You should avoid strenuous exercise and swimming or saunas for the first few days following treatment to help the skin heal.

You will be given instructions on post-care to minimise any potential post-treatment concerns.

If you are having problems with the treatment area, contact us, and we will arrange to see you as soon as possible for a skin review. Our trained medical professionals are used to seeing skin reactions, and we will advise you whether your reaction is normal or a rare (but possible) infection.

How Do I Prepare for Laser Tattoo Removal?

On the day of treatment, the area should be clean and clear. Wear suitable clothing so the tattoo can be easily accessed, and don’t apply creams, lotions, or skincare products to the area. You should also withstand using fake tan for two before your treatment.

The weeks before and after your laser removal session, you should minimise sun exposure and will also need to protect your skin from the sun by using SPF30 sun cream.

How Many Treatments Will I Need To Fade a Tattoo So I Can Get a New Design?

It depends on the size and colouring of your unwanted tattoo. In some cases, a single tattoo removal procedure can significantly fade a tattoo so that it can be hidden with a cover-up tattoo. Your clinician will be able to advise you on the number of laser therapy sessions required at your free initial consultation.

Is It Easier To Remove a Recent Tattoo?

No, it is not easier to remove a newer tattoo. Generally, older unwanted tattoos are easier to remove as exposure to sunlight causes the ink to break down, and the tattoo fades over time.

But many factors can affect how easy it is to remove a tattoo, including age. If you have regrets over a recent tattoo, your clinician will be able to talk you through the removal process and how long you should wait before starting a course of tattoo removal sessions.

Which Colours Are the Hardest To Remove?

We can successfully remove most tattoo colours. Traditionally, red, blue, and green ink colours are harder to remove. However, laser technology advances mean we can effectively treat these colours and break down the tattoo pigment for complete removal.

Generally, professional tattoos are more challenging to remove than amateur tattoos and may require additional sessions. Your b clinic practitioner will assess your tattoo during your free consultation and advise you on the number of sessions needed to achieve your desired results.

Can You Get Laser Tattoo Removal While Pregnant?

You should not get laser tattoo removal when pregnant. While the risk of infection is very low,  there is a lack of clinical studies to show the effects of laser wavelengths on an unborn fetus. We do not recommend tattoo removal until you have given birth and stopped breastfeeding.

Possible Risks and Complications

Some side effects are a normal part of the tattoo removal process and show that the body is responding positively to the treatment. You may experience redness, swelling, and sensitivity in the treated area for the first few days. Some people also experience blisters and scabs that will subside within 1 week of treatment.

Rarer side effects can include hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. Those with darker skin tones are more likely to encounter these side effects. However, all unwanted effects should be temporary if a trained tattoo laser removal practitioner performs the treatment and all aftercare instructions are followed.

How Much Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?

Treatments start from just $75. Costs are dependent on a few factors, including the size of your unwanted tattoo, ink colours and the number of treatments you’ll require. Nasolabial Folds Treatment

Nasolabial Folds

The nasolabial fold is the deep crease running from either side of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. Also known as a “smile line,” this crease is caused by volume loss, ageing of the skin, and repeated movement of the mouth.

While it is attractive to have a little fold here, a deep fold can make you look older than you truly are.

  • Nasolabial Folds Treatment
    $550
    with 1ml Dermal Filler.
*Please note that this price is applicable across all b clinic locations excluding Queen St, Brisbane City Clinic.

Treating Nasolabial Folds

This crease becomes more noticeable as part of the natural ageing process.

Fat is lost from the cheeks, reducing skin volume and making this fold appear deeper. Repeated smiling or having a “big smile” may result in permanent, deep creases in this area. Even after you’re no longer smiling, the line remains.

Deep nasolabial folds can be corrected through injections of dermal filler into the surrounding area, restoring the lost volume and softening the appearance of these creases. The goal of nasolabial fold injections is to even out the skin volume, making the area look smoother and more youthful.

Who is suitable to have this treatment?

If you are concerned about the appearance of your smile lines, this treatment may be right for you. People who are more mature or who are slim tend to have more pronounced nasolabial folds. Genetics also plays a role in the appearance of this area of your face. A nasolabial fold treatment can be performed on most adults, men, or women in good general health

Results following two mid-face dermal filler treatments. *Individual results may vary

What to Expect Nasolabial Fold Injections

The nasolabial fold can be treated with injections of a dermal filler containing a gel substance. Several types of injectable filler products can be used to restore volume in this area.

Fillers come in a few different types; semi-permanent and non-permanent.

By far, the most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed.

Each filler differs in the exact manner in which it builds up volume under the skin and the length of time it remains in the face.

Your practitioner will recommend the type and brand of filler that’s best for you.

This treatment takes less than an hour to perform. First, your trained clinician may apply a topical anaesthetic cream, or it may be included with the filler material when injected.

Dermal filler injections are then delivered through a thin needle or cannula into specified areas in the lower cheek area. These injections increase the volume of the skin, reducing and softening the appearance of the nasolabial fold lines.

The results are visible following the treatment, with additional improvements in skin volume becoming noticeable in the week following the injections.

What Causes Nasolabial Folds?

Nasolabial folds form as part of the natural ageing process. As the body ages, we lose bone mass, and the fat cells in the face begin to drop down.

When combined with a reduction in collagen and elastin production, lost volume causes nasolabial folds to form.

Certain lifestyle choices can cause nasolabial folds to form prematurely.

Smoking and overexposure to the sun’s UV rays can break down collagen and elastin fibres, resulting in more noticeable nasolabial folds.

How Do Nasolabial Fold Fillers Work?

The nasolabial folds can be treated with injections of dermal filler. The filler product attracts and retains water to plump the skin from within, restoring volume lost due to ageing. The filler product softens creases, creating a smoother and more youthful appearance.

Will I Need To Attend a Consultation?

You will need to attend a free consultation at b clinic before your nasolabial fold filler treatment. Your clinician will examine your skin and the lower cheek area to see if you are a good candidate for the procedure. They will also ask questions about your medical history and your expected treatment outcomes.

The consultation is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and discuss any concerns you have about the procedure.

What To Expect After Nasolabial Fold Filler Treatment?

Dermal fillers provide immediate results. You will be able to see noticeable improvement after the injections and before you leave the clinic. For the first few days following treatment, you may experience mild swelling and redness around the injection sites.

Over the next 14 days, the filler product will settle, and you will be able to see the full results of the treatment.

Do Nasolabial Fold Filler Injections Hurt?

A topical anaesthetic may be applied to numb the area and minimise discomfort before the dermal filler injection. Alternatively, we may include the anaesthetic with the dermal filler product during the injection.

Most clients find a nasolabial folds treatment relatively painless. You may experience a feeling of pressure as the filler is applied and mild discomfort around the injection sites for a few hours post-treatment.

How Long Will Results Last After a Nasolabial Fold Treatment?

The effects of this treatment with non-permanent filler generally last 6-8 months. Over time, the body gradually absorbs the injected material, causing the nasolabial folds to deepen again. Many clients return to the clinic for regular treatments to maintain their rejuvenated appearance.

Do Nasolabial Fold Dermal Filler Results Look Natural?

During your free consultation at b clinic, your practitioner will assess your facial profile to see if nasolabial fold filler is the best option for treating the volume loss in your lower face. It’s important to choose a reputable clinic with experienced practitioners as using too much filler product in this area can alter your smile and facial expressions.

When performed by a trained clinician, dermal fillers provide a natural-looking enhancement. You may look more refreshed following a treatment.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most clients are happy with their results after a single cosmetic procedures. We recommend that clients wait until any swelling or any possible bruising has subsided and the dermal fillers have had time to settle before attending a post-treatment consultation.

If required, we can apply a second application of dermal filler to achieve your desired results.

Over time, the body will gradually absorb the dermal filler product, causing the nasolabial folds to return to how they looked pre-treatment. Many clients return to the clinic every 6-8 months for a top-up dermal filler treatment to maintain their results.

Can Losing Weight Get Rid of Nasolabial Folds?

Unfortunately, nasolabial folds do not improve after significant weight loss. We recommend exercise and staying in good shape as part of a healthy lifestyle,  but it usually won’t help reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds, marionette lines, or wrinkles.

These folds are caused by a loss of volume and a drop in the production of collagen. Dermal filler helps to restore lost volume and soften nasolabial folds to achieve a more youthful appearance.

Does Smiling Cause Nasolabial Folds?

Smiling and other repetitive muscle movements can impact your facial features, but this is generally a secondary cause of nasolabial folds. The loss of bone mass and volume in the face is a natural part of the ageing process that causes nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and other facial folds to form. Several factors can make you more prone to these facial lines, including genetics, sun-damaged skin, and lifestyle choices.

Possible Risks and Complications

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

Following nasolabial fold injections, it is common for the treated area to be red, sore, tender, or slightly swollen. These effects usually dissipate within two days of the injections and can be hidden with makeup. Less commonly, bruises may appear.

Serious side effects such as infection and allergic reactions, though rare, are possible with a nasolabial folds treatment. The injected filler can also migrate away from the injection site, forming lumps underneath the skin.

Often, these bumps can be gently massaged to smooth the appearance of the skin. In some cases, the lumps last until the body reabsorbs the dermal filler. Avoid rubbing or touching your face for a few days following nasolabial fold injections to reduce the likelihood of this side effect

How Much Does Nasolabial Fold Filler Cost?

Treating nasolabial folds starts at $550 per 1ml. Additional injections may be needed for those with particularly deep nasolabial fold lines.

Brow Lift

Brow Lift

Many people find that their brow area is the first part of the face to show signs of ageing. As the skin of the brows and forehead sags, your eyelids begin to look heavier. Your eyes start to look smaller, and the sagging brow skin may even start to obscure your vision.

Whether your eyebrows have lost their youthful arch or you have noticed wrinkles at the edges of your eyes, a non-surgical brow lift can elevate this sagging skin, leaving your brows looking more rejuvenated.

  • Brow Lift Treatment
    $550
    with 1ml Dermal Filler.
*Please note that this price is applicable across all b clinic locations excluding Queen St, Brisbane City Clinic.

Treating The Brows

Dermal filler injections tighten and lift the skin to reduce the fine lines, wrinkles and loose skin caused by volume loss due to ageing. A trained practitioner can use dermal filler to lift your eyebrows, resulting in a more open and refreshed-looking appearance. By filling in loose skin in the brow area, dermal fillers reduce the visible effects of ageing and make the eyebrow area appear more youthful.

Who is suitable for this treatment?

Candidates for this treatment tend to be adults who have begun to notice signs of ageing along their brow line. Many patients opt for brow enhancement with dermal fillers as an alternative to brow lift surgery, which is more invasive and has a longer recovery period.

Most adults who are in good overall health can undergo a dermal filler brow lift. If you are wondering whether this treatment will meet your aesthetic goals, schedule a consultation visit with us today.

Typical Results

The majority of clients don’t experience any side effects, but any minor swelling will subside within a few days, and you’ll see the final results of your procedure.

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

There is minimal downtime, and most clients go back to their daily routine immediately after leaving the clinic.

What to Expect

The dermal filler is injected during a clinic visit that usually takes less than an hour. The filler is injected into the skin and will increase skin volume, filling in wrinkles from the inside. The resulting plumping changes the contours of your brow line to lift the eyebrows.

Several types of injectable filler products are commonly used for a non-surgical brow lift. Dermal fillers come in a few different types; semi-permanent and non-permanent. By far, the most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed.

Each filler differs in the exact manner in which it builds up volume under the skin and the length of time it remains in the brow area. The effects of a brow lift with non-permanent filler typically last up to 6 months. Over time, your brow will gradually revert to its pre-treatment appearance. Many patients opt for regular injections to maintain their enhanced brow.

Your practitioner will recommend the type and brand of filler that’s best for you.

First, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied, or it may be included with the filler material when injected. Then, small volumes of dermal filler are injected into pre-selected areas of your brow line and forehead. By using multiple small injections, the dermal filler can be distributed evenly, leading to a symmetrical result.

Treatment results can last up to 6-12 months, but the body will absorb the injected material over time. As a result, your brows will return to their pre-treatment appearance. Some patients schedule periodic injections to maintain their brows’ rejuvenated appearance.

How Will I Look After the Procedure?

Results from a non-surgical eyebrow lift are visible immediately following the treatment. You may experience some mild swelling and redness, but this can be concealed with makeup and will subside within 48 hours of the procedure. Many clients have the procedure during their lunch break and return to work in the afternoon.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no extended downtime after a non-surgical brow lift procedure. You can resume your regular daily routine after leaving the clinic. You may experience some mild redness, swelling and possibly bruising around the injection sites, but this doesn’t last long and can easily be concealed with makeup.

How Long Does a Non-Surgical Brow Lift Last?

The longevity of treatment depends on the type of dermal filler product used and the client’s metabolism and lifestyle. For most people, the dermal filler will last up to 12 months. We recommend a top-up filler treatment to maintain your look from 6 months to a year after the initial procedure.

Do Brow Lift Injections Hurt?

The eye area can be more sensitive than other areas of the face. Your clinician will apply a topical anaesthetic cream to minimize any pain during the procedure. You may experience some pressure as the filler is applied, but most people find the treatment painless.

Can Men Have a Non-Surgical Brow Lift Treatment?

Yes! An eyebrow lift procedure is suitable for both men and women. Using dermal fillers to add definition to the brow line can help you to appear younger, fresher, and well-rested.

Why Do Eyebrows Drop Down as We Age?

The loss of fatty tissue, bone collagen, and elastin is a natural part of the ageing process. Older skin doesn’t spring back like it does when you’re younger, and facial tissue begins to sag.

This is particularly noticeable around the eyebrows. As the upper third of the face begins to drop down, lines and wrinkles form, and the drooping of the outer brow can give the impression of a sad facial expression.

A non-surgical eyebrow lift restores lost volume and stimulates collagen production to help fight signs of ageing and restore your youthful glow.

Possible Risks and Complications

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

Side effects such as minor swelling, redness, and tenderness are common after a dermal filler treatment. Some patients also experience bruising. Such side effects typically dissipate within one to two days and can be camouflaged with makeup.

While serious complications are rare, infections and allergic reactions can occur. The injected dermal filler can also move away from the injection area, forming lumps underneath the skin. Sometimes these can be massaged away. In other cases, the bumps remain until the body absorbs the dermal filler. Avoid touching or rubbing your brows and forehead after receiving dermal filler injections to reduce this risk.

Rough Costs Involved

Eyebrow lift treatments begin at $550. This is the starting cost of 1mL of dermal filler product. Most patients are able to achieve their desired results with this amount. However, for particularly dramatic changes, more dermal filler may be needed. After discussion of your aesthetic goals and treatment details, you will receive a quote that accounts for the amount of dermal filler required. Book your free consultation visit today.

Marionette Lines Treatment

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines run from the corners of the mouth vertically down towards the chin. These unwanted creases look like the lines on a marionette puppet. They are caused by repeated movement of the mouth and the loss of fat and skin elasticity that occurs naturally as part of the ageing process. Lost skin volume causes lines to turn into deeper creases.

They tend to give the mouth a down-turned appearance, making it look as if you are frowning even when you are not.

Many people feel these lines make them look sad, tired, or older than they truly are.

  • Marionette Lines Treatment
    $550
    with 1ml Dermal Filler.
*Please note that this price is applicable across all b clinic locations excluding Queen St, Brisbane City Clinic.

Treat Marionette Lines With Dermal Fillers

The appearance of marionette lines can be corrected through injections of anti-wrinkle dermal fillers. Dermal fillers can remove the “sad” look caused by marionette line wrinkles and nasolabial folds by restoring lost volume.

Marionette line treatments soften the appearance of these unwanted creases, rejuvenating the lower face.

Who is suitable to have this treatment?

Candidates for marionette lines fillers are adults who want to improve the appearance of wrinkles and folds in the lower face, chin, and mouth area. You may have recently noticed these wrinkles as a result of ageing, or you may have always had lines in this area due to your genes.

Ideal candidates are at or near a healthy weight and are in good overall health. If you are concerned about the appearance of lines around your chin, dermal filler injections may be right for you.

Reverse Visible Signs of Ageing

Marionette lines are a noticeable sign of ageing caused by a drop in elastin and collagen production. Dermal fillers restore the loss of volume and increase the production of these age-fighting proteins to achieve a natural-looking improvement.

Restore Your Smile

Deep wrinkles and marionette lines tend to appear as a downturn from the corners of the mouth. This has the effect of causing a frowned facial expression. By restoring volume to the area, marionette lines treatment can restore your youthful smile.

Natural-Looking Improvement

The procedure helps you to be the best version of yourself. Results are natural-looking, and most people won’t be able to tell you’ve had “work done”.

Non-Invasive Procedure

Dermal fillers for marionette lines is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that requires no downtime or disruption to your daily routine. You may experience mild swelling or bruising post-procedure, but the symptoms should subside over 48 hours.

What to Expect

The marionette lines are treated with dermal filler anti-wrinkle injections during an office visit lasting under an hour. Several types of injectable filler products are commonly used for marionette lines.

Fillers come in a few different types; semi-permanent and non-permanent. The most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed.  Each filler differs in the exact manner in which it builds up volume under the skin and the length of time it remains in the cheeks and chin area.

Your practitioner will recommend the type and brand of filler that’s best for you.

During the marionette lines treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied, or it may be included with the filler material when injected. Then, multiple small injections are delivered through a thin needle. These injections are placed at sites in and surrounding the crease of the marionette lines on either side of your mouth.

The effects of marionette line injections remain visible for 6-12 months. Eventually, the body absorbs the injected dermal filler, and the lines will reappear.

What Causes Marionette Lines?

Marionette lines are caused by the drop in collagen and elastin production as part of the ageing process.

These proteins provide elasticity and volume to the skin. Over time, the effects of gravity and volume loss cause skin laxity that makes marionette lines more noticeable.

Some people lose elasticity and volume faster and develop marionette lines at a younger age. This can be caused by genetics and other factors like excessive sun exposure, stress, and lifestyle choices.

How Do Marionette Lines Fillers Work?

Dermal fillers consist a gel-like substance that occurs naturally in the body. Once injected into deeper layers of the skin, water molecules to hydrate and lift the skin.

Marionette line fillers replace lost volume in the lower face, plumping the skin from within. Fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, and the crease becomes softer and much less noticeable. The dermal filler product also has a collagen-boosting effect, improving skin texture and tone for a more refreshed look.

Dо Marionette Lines Filler Treatments Hurt?

The injection of the anti-wrinkle dermal filler is not painful. A topical anaesthetic is applied before the treatment to minimise any discomfort. You may feel some pressure during the injections but no pain. After the procedure, you may experience some mild swelling or bruising around the injection sites for up to 48 hours.

Іѕ Thеrе Anу Dоwntіmе Aftеr Dеrmаl Fіllеrѕ in the Corners of the Mouth?

After receiving marionette lines fillers, you can leave the clinic and carry on with your regular routine. For most people, the only noticeable side effect is mild swelling and redness around the injection sites.

You can immediately apply make-up to conceal the signs of treatment.

Ноw Long Do Mаrіоnеttе Lіnеs Fillers Lаѕt?

Results for marionette lines dermal filler treatments typically last from 6 to 12 months. The longevity of the results depends on your metabolism and lifestyle and the amount of dermal filler product used.

We usually recommend that you return to the clinic for a marionette lines filler top-up after around 6 months to maintain your desired results.

What Happens When Marionette Lines Filler Wears Off?

The effects of marionette lines filler will typically last for 6-12 months. The body will absorb the product gradually, and your marionette lines will return to their pre-treatment appearance. Many clients return for a follow-up treatment after 6 months to maintain their rejuvenated look.

If you decide not to have further marionette lines fillers, the treated area will appear the same as it did before the procedure. The treatment does not cause more wrinkles to form.

Will Results Last Longer if More Product Is Injected?

The amount of filler required to achieve your desired treatment outcomes will be determined by your clinician at your free initial consultation. Using too much product can cause unwanted side effects and create results that look unnatural.

Our trained practitioners have years of experience with dermal fillers and cosmetic injectables. You can trust our team to recommend the right treatment and the correct amount of product to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.

How Do I Prepare for Marionette Lines Fillers?

There is no special preparation you need to do for marionette lines fillers. Your clinician may recommend that you stop taking any supplements or medications that could increase the risk of side effects for one week before treatment. These can include vitamin E, aspirin, and ibuprofen.

If you have a prescription for any medicine that could increase the risk of side effects, you should consult your doctor before you stop taking them.

How Do I Prevent Marionette Lines?

There’s no silver bullet to stop the ageing process, but there are some measures you can take to prevent marionette lines and keep your skin looking younger for longer.

Daily Skin Care Routine

Keeping your skin cleansed, nourished, and hydrated is important for preventing visible signs of ageing and maximising the results of anti-wrinkle treatments. Wash your face twice per day, remove make-up before you sleep, and use a gentle moisturiser daily to hydrate your skin.

Maintain a Healthy Weight

When your body weight fluctuates, it increases the risk of skin laxity. This can be particularly noticeable in the area around the mouth and jawline, where marionette lines develop. If you are trying to lose weight, aim for gradual weight loss through a combination of exercise and a healthy diet.

Protect Your Skin From Sun Exposure

Exposure to the sun’s powerful UV rays is one of the major causes of skin ageing. Sun exposure breaks down the collagen in the skin, increasing the risk of fine lines and wrinkles. Protect your skin using an SPF 30-50 plus sunscreen and avoid prolonged sun exposure.

Lifestyle Choices

You can improve your overall health and keep your skin fresher and younger-looking by adopting healthy habits and avoiding those that damage your skin. Aim to drink around 2 litres of water per day to stay hydrated, and make sure you get enough sleep each night.

Drinking too much coffee, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption are all habits that can damage your skin and your overall health.

Possible Risks and Complications

After dermal filler injections into the marionette line area and lower face, side effects can include redness, swelling, and tenderness in the injection site. These effects usually subside within two days. Any redness and bruising can be camouflaged with makeup. Serious complications are rare but include infections and allergic reactions to the injected filler. All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

It is also possible for the treatment to result in asymmetry, usually caused by uneven injections into each marionette line. This can be avoided by choosing a skilled practitioner to deliver the injections.

The injected dermal filler can also migrate into lumps underneath the skin. These can often be massaged away to redistribute the filler. To reduce the likelihood of these uneven lumps, avoid rubbing or touching the treated area of the lower face for several days after receiving dermal filler injections.

How Much Do Marionette Lines Dermal Fillers Cost?

This treatment begins at $550, which includes 1mL of dermal filler. Clients with particularly deep or prominent marionette lines may require additional product to achieve their desired results.

Temple Injection Treatment

Temple Injection

Your temples, located to the sides of your eyes, can be one of the first areas of the face to show signs of ageing. The skin of the temples tends to thin with age, giving a hollow or sunken appearance. Many clients also have “crow’s feet” wrinkles extending into this area.

Dermal filler injections can restore lost volume and fill in the wrinkles which may refresh your appearance.

  • Temple Treatment
    $550
    1 ml with Dermal Filler.
*Please note that this price is applicable across all b clinic locations excluding Queen St, Brisbane City Clinic.

Treating the Temples with Dermal Filler

Over time, the skin loses elasticity and volume. Your temples may take on a sunken, hollow, or gaunt appearance that makes you look tired or unwell.

Repetitive eye movements can cause wrinkles around the eye area, making this part of the face look older than the rest.

Temple filler injections can restore balance to your facial symmetry by replacing lost volume. After the treatment, many clients find their entire face looks more youthful.

Who is suitable to have this treatment?

You may be a candidate for temple injections if you have noticed this area has become sunken or wrinkled.

If you are bothered by the appearance of this portion of your face, a temple treatment with dermal fillers may be right for you.

Clients tend to be more mature adults who are concerned about the effects of ageing, though this treatment can also be performed on those whose temples are sunken due to their genes. Most adults in good overall health can undergo dermal filler injections.

Restore Facial Structure

As we age, the temple areas around the eyes lose volume and begin to show visible signs of ageing, like wrinkles and sagging skin. Temple fillers restore lost volume to reduce the appearance of these skin concerns and rejuvenate the facial area to appear more youthful.

Increase Collagen Production

Dermal fillers encourage the production of collagen and elastin in the treated area. After the procedure, your body will produce more of these age-fighting proteins to help you achieve firmer skin.

Reversible

During your consultation, your clinician will discuss your treatment goals to ensure that temple fillers are right for you. If you are unhappy with the results of your temple fillers treatment, the dermal filler product can be dissolved within 48 hours of receiving a corrective injection of an enzyme that breaks down the dermal filler product.

What to Expect

Sunken skin and wrinkles on the temples are filled in with injections of dermal filler.

Several types of injectable filler products are commonly used in the temple region and upper face.

Fillers come in different types; semi-permanent and non-permanent. By far, the most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed. Your practitioner will recommend the type and brand of filler that’s best for you.

After the administration of a local anaesthetic, which is also mixed with the dermal filler material, the product is injected into the temple area by cannula or sharp needle technique, depending on the practitioner’s preference.

A cannula, a blunt needle, is becoming a more popular way of injecting filler as it reduces the risk of potential complications.

Once the product is injected into the sunken area, it will increase the skin’s volume over the temples, leading to a rejuvenated appearance.

Results of the filler injection can be seen immediately. Over the next two weeks, you will be able to see the full results as the filler builds up the volume of the skin and settles into place

What Causes Volume Loss in the Temples?

We lose bone density and fat stores in the temple area as part of the natural ageing process. The body also produces less of the proteins collagen and elastin, which make skin springy and supple.

With the structure beneath the skin depleting and the skin becoming less firm, the temple area can look hollow, and the brow can appear to drop. The recessed area between the cheeks and brow can worsen over time and make you look older than you truly are.

How Do Temple Fillers Work?

Temple filler works by restoring and replacing the volume lost due to ageing. The loss of bone density, fat stores, and collagen can cause hollow temples that make fine lines and wrinkles appear more noticeable, including crow’s feet.

The temple filler treatment replaces the lost volume using dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid. The filler plumps the skin from within, smoothing away wrinkles and folds and hydrating the skin.

What Result Can I Expect From a Temple Filler Treatment?

The area around the eyes is often the first place to show visible signs of ageing. After temple fillers, you can expect to see an immediate improvement. The area will appear smoother with the skin lifted from within to give you a more refreshed appearance.

Results will improve over the first two weeks following treatment as the dermal filler product settles and any swelling subsides.

How Long Do Temple Fillers Last?

The longevity of results depends on the metabolism and age of the client and the amount of filler used to treat the volume loss in the temples. The effects of treatment usually last for 9-12 months.

Many clients return for repeat injections to maintain the appearance of their temples. If you are happy with the results 4 weeks after treatment, your clinician will recommend a top-up temple filler treatment in 6 to 12 months.

How Much Filler Do You Need for Temples?

The amount of dermal filler needed to treat the temples depends on the volume lost and the results you want to achieve from the procedure. Most clients require 0.5ml of filler for each temple to achieve noticeable results.  For clients with significant volume loss, it’s recommended that volume is restored gradually over several treatments to achieve a natural-looking rejuvenation.

Do Temple Fillers Hurt?

Temple filler injections are not painful. A local anaesthetic is applied before treatment to numb the area, and the dermal filler product usually contains an additional anaesthetic to reduce any discomfort. You may experience mild swelling and redness around the injection sites, but these effects typically subside within a few hours of leaving the clinic.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is minimal downtime involved with temple filler injections. You can immediately return to work, and there is no need to cancel any social activities.

Some clients experience mild swelling and redness around the injection sites, but this usually resolves within hours of the treatment. Any side effects should have subsided within 72 hours of the procedure.

Temple fillers are safe when performed by an experienced and trained practitioner. As with all injectables, there is a risk of mild side effects like temporary swelling and redness, but more severe side effects are extremely rare.

During your free initial consultation, your clinician will ask questions about your medical history and discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals. This consultation is to ensure that you are a suitable candidate for the treatment and that temple fillers can help you achieve your desired results.

Possible Risks and Complications

Following temple injections, minor side effects such as swelling, redness, and tenderness are common. Some clients also report bruising. However, these effects should subside within just a few days and can be covered with makeup.

Serious complications are rare but can include infection or an allergic reaction to the injected dermal filler.  All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner. It’s important to choose a practitioner and clinic with experience with injections of dermal filler in the temples and upper face.

Some clients report that the injected filler has settled into lumps underneath the skin. Often these bumps can be massaged to redistribute the filler. In other cases, the bumps remain until the body begins to absorb the injected material a few weeks after treatment. For the first few days after receiving temple injections, avoid rubbing or touching this area, as this can disrupt the even distribution of the dermal filler.

How Much Does Temple Filler Cost?

Temple treatments with dermal filler begin at $550, which includes 1mL of dermal filler.

Most clients can achieve the desired effects using this amount of dermal filler. For significantly sunken hollow temples, additional dermal filler will be needed for an added cost.

Tear Trough

Tear Trough

The tear troughs are the depressions running from the nose up to the under-eye area. Over time, this area of the face tends to sag into wrinkles, and dark circles or hollows may appear. Dark under-eye or under-eye hollows are a common concern. Many people feel that this area of their face makes them look older or more tired than they really are.

There are many causes of tear trough imperfections. Genetics, lack of sleep, lifestyle and ageing all contribute to sagging in this area. Sagging can be caused by the loss of facial fat in the under-eye and cheek area. It can also result from loosening ligaments, and some people are simply born with a shallow bone structure and lack of fat in this area. Because the skin here is quite thin, it has a tendency to show the effects of ageing sooner than the rest of the face. A non-surgical tear trough treatment can alleviate these effects.

  • Tear Trough Treatment
    $550
    1 ml with Dermal Filler.
*Please note that this price is applicable across all b clinic locations excluding Queen St, Brisbane City Clinic.

Treating Tear Trough Imperfections

A tear trough treatment involves the injection of dermal filler above the eye socket bone. This filler is then massaged into the fatty tissues underneath the eye, filling in this depression from inside the skin. The treatment can rejuvenate the appearance of this area by plumping up hollow under-eye areas while concealing dark circles by filling in the loose skin.

Who Is Suitable to Have This Treatment?

Most candidates for this treatment are in their mid-30s or older. They seek a tear trough treatment as a way to combat some of the signs of ageing. Clients often complain that the appearance of their under-eye area makes them look more tired than they feel. Under-eye filler treatments may also be performed on younger patients with genetic tear trough imperfections. If you are interested in finding out whether this treatment is right for you, schedule a free consultation with one of our experienced practitioners.

Benefits of Tear Trough Fillers

Many clients are surprised when they find out dermal fillers can provide improvement to the appearance of the tear troughs without undergoing invasive cosmetic surgery. Tear trough dermal fillers offer several advantages, including:

Look Refreshed

Dark circles under the eyes caused by hollows can make you appear older and tired, no matter how much sleep you have had the night before. As the body ages, tear troughs can become deeper and more profound due to volume loss. Restoring this lost volume using dermal fillers, may help you look more refreshed.

Results

A tear trough treatment typically takes less than an hour at the clinic. After your procedure, you’ll see an immediate improvement. Over the next few days, any mild bruising or swelling will subside, and your results will look even better. The procedure doesn’t require any extensive downtime, and for the majority of clients, the only discomfort is a sensation of pressure as the filler is applied.

Long-Lasting

While adding volume to the tear troughs using filler won’t last as long as a surgical procedure, clients can expect results to last from 6 months up to 18 months. You can return to the clinic for a follow-up treatment to maintain your results every 6 to 12 months.

*Individual Results May Vary

What to Expect

The treatment involves an injection of dermal filler into the under-eye area. Often, only 1ml of dermal filler is needed, with half a millilitre or less injected under each eye.

Some patients undergo a second treatment 6-9 months after the first to achieve the best gradual improvement to their appearance.

A third treatment several months later may also be recommended to achieve the desired effect.

Each injection session takes place in our doctor’s clinic and requires less than an hour of your time. Only highly qualified, extensively trained medical professionals should administer dermal fillers in the tear troughs.

The injectable filler contains an anaesthetic, making this treatment extremely well-tolerated. Clients usually feel a slight pinch when the needle enters their skin. A single blunt cannula or multiple small injections may be placed in the under-eye area to fill in the volume deficit evenly. Immediately following the injections, you are free to leave our clinic.

No downtime is needed following a tear trough treatment. Patients can return to work and other daily activities immediately. The results are visible instantly and usually last anywhere between 6 months and 18 months.

How Long Do Tear Trough Fillers Last?

The longevity of tear trough fillers depends on the individual and the type of filler used. Results typically last from 6 months up to 18 months. If you have a fast metabolism, your body will absorb the filler product quicker. Most people are happy with their look for around 12 months before needing to return to the clinic for a top-up treatment.

How Much Filler Do I Need for Tear Troughs?

The amount of filler product required depends on the individual, and the amount of volume lost in the tear troughs between the eyes and cheeks. For most of our clients at b clinic, half a ml of filler each side is usually enough to achieve the desired results. During your follow-up consultation, we may recommend an additional appointment to add more filler to achieve your desired look.

Does Tear Trough Filler Get Rid of Dark Circles?

Many factors can cause dark circles under the eyes. Tear trough filler can be an effective treatment if your dark circles are caused by shadowing due to hollows. As the body ages, it produces less collagen and the fat compartments in the face begin to drop. This can be particularly noticeable in the under-eye area and appears as a hollow above the cheek. When the light catches the hollows, dark circles appear under the eyes that result in a tired and aged appearance.

Dermal fillers can restore the volume in the under-eye area to eliminate these dark circles and create a smoother contour between the eyes and cheeks. If your dark circles are caused by pigmentation, allergies, or lack of sleep, under-eye fillers are not a suitable treatment. During your consultation at b clinic, your clinician will determine whether dermal fillers are the right treatment for you.

Does Dermal Filler Cause Sagging?

Under-eye filler will not stretch the skin or cause sagging once the body has naturally absorbed the filler. Tear trough fillers are used to restore lost volume to the hollows in the under-eye area. The skin has already had this volume previously, so the volume added by dermal fillers does not stretch or cause additional sagging. Once the filler has been broken down, you can expect the area to look the same as it did before the tear trough filler treatment. There is a possibility of puffiness if the filler is not injected correctly or if too much product is used. You should always choose an experienced practitioner for any injectable procedures to minimize the risk of any complications or side effects.

Are Tear Trough Fillers Painful?

Tear trough fillers are a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that is pain-free. A topical anaesthetic will be applied to the area before treatment, and a cannula may be used to administer the filler rather than a needle. You may feel some pressure as the cannula is positioned, but the discomfort is mild and doesn’t last long. Most clients report tear trough fillers as less painful than anti-wrinkle injections.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no downtime after an under eye dermal filler treatment. You don’t need to reschedule any social events or take time off from work. Most clients return to their regular daily routine immediately after the procedure.

A blunt cannula may be used to apply the filler to the tear troughs and reduce the risk of side effects. If you do encounter any mild bruising or swelling, you can apply makeup to conceal any visible signs of treatment. Any side effects should subside within 48 hours of treatment.

Is There Anything I Should Avoid Before and After My Tear Trough Treatment?

In the week before your tear trough treatment, you should avoid any supplements or pain killers that could increase the risk of bruising or bleeding, such as ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E and fish oil. It’s also recommended that you stop using any facial products that contain retinol and glycolic acid to avoid the risk of irritation in the area.

After your tear trough treatment, you should avoid any strenuous exercise for 48 hours. It’s also recommended that you don’t use any saunas or take a hot shower for 24 hours post-procedure. For two weeks after treatment, you shouldn’t undergo any facials or peels to allow the skin in the cheek and eye area to heal and settle.

Possible Risks and Complications

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

The treatment tends to cause mild redness, tenderness, bruising and swelling.

These effects usually dissipate within a week of treatment and can be camouflaged with makeup. The success rate of this treatment is very high, and major long-term side effects are rare. In some cases, the injected filler causes a lump or bump underneath the skin around the tear troughs.

This can usually be massaged away if caught during the treatment visit and will dissipate on its own over a period of weeks.

How Much Does Tear Trough Filler Cost?

Many patients are satisfied with the results of a 1ml injection.

Others require additional injections to achieve optimal results, either at the same appointment or in a follow-up visit several months later.

When it comes to advanced dermal filler treatments such as tear troughs, your practitioner will conduct a total face assessment during your free consultation and provide you with a customised quote. This allows your practitioner to create a bespoke treatment plan based on your aesthetic needs and desires.

Chin Enhancement

Chin Enhancement

The chin has a major impact on how youthful and balanced the rest of the face appears. As we age, the chin can become less defined and well-proportioned.

If you feel your chin and jawline is not quite in balance with the rest of your face or is recessive and weak, dermal filler chin augmentation can improve its symmetry and reshape your lower face, which may enhance your appearance.

Treating the Chin

A chin augmentation treatment can change the contours of your chin with dermal fillers. These injections add volume under the skin to make the chin appear more prominent or increase its definition.

Chin enhancement using dermal fillers can subtly change the look of the lower face and rejuvenate your entire appearance. It can make the chin more chiselled – a common request from male clients – or create softer contours, as requested by many women.

Who Is Suitable for This Treatment?

Candidates for chin augmentation treatments are adults who want to change the contours of their chins. Whether your chin has become less prominent due to ageing or weight fluctuations, has never been as chiselled as you would like or has asymmetries you’d like to correct, chin enhancement injections may be right for you.

This treatment is appropriate for most adult men and women who are in good overall health.

Typical Results

You can see immediate results following your treatment. After chin fillers, you’ll be able to leave the clinic.

The results continue to improve as the chin filler product settles over the next two weeks.

Reshape Your Lower Face

Chin fillers are the best non-surgical way to improve the shape of the chin and lower face.

You can achieve a more feminine v-shape or create a more masculine chin and jaw.

Chin filler can help both men and women achieve a look that compliments their facial features and profile.

Anti-Ageing

Restore lost volume in the lower face to address sagging and rejuvenate your chin and jaw.

By replacing volume and boosting collagen production, chin fillers help to reverse and prevent visible signs of ageing.

Improve Facial Symmetry

Facial symmetry is key to how we perceive beauty.

Chin dermal filler treatments can correct asymmetry and restore balance to your facial proportions.

A stronger and more defined chin can improve the appearance of your entire face.

What to Expect

Your chin can be enhanced during a clinic visit that typically lasts less than an hour.

The injected material fills in skin volume from inside, plumping the area and changing the contour of your chin.

Several types of injectable dermal filler products are commonly used for chin enhancements.

Fillers come in a few different types; semi-permanent and non-permanent. By far, the most common is non-permanent because its effects are temporary and can be easily reversed.

Each filler differs in the exact manner in which it builds up volume under the skin and the length of time it remains in the chin.

The effects of chin enhancement with non-permanent filler typically last up to 6 months.

Over time, your chin will gradually revert to its pre-treatment appearance. As a result, many clients opt for continuing with treatments to maintain their enhanced chin.

Your practitioner will recommend the type and brand of filler that’s best for you.

First, a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied, or it may be included with the filler material when injected.

Next, a thin needle is used to deliver small injections of the filler into pre-selected locations along your chin.

By using multiple small injections, the dermal filler can be distributed evenly to achieve a symmetrical and natural-looking result.

Clients can return home or go back to work immediately after the treatment. There is minimal downtime required.

Over time, the body absorbs the injected filler, returning the chin to its pre-treatment appearance. For this reason, many clients choose to undergo a follow-up treatment.

What Does Chin Filler Help With?

Chin fillers are a versatile treatment that can improve a range of concerns.

As part of the natural ageing process, we lose bone density and soft tissue in the face. Chin fillers can replace this structural support to help address skin laxity and sagging in the lower face.

Chin augmentation can also improve the chin’s size, length, and symmetry to balance the facial features. Many people choose to have chin fillers to augment the projection of the lower face and achieve a more defined chin and jawline

Your clinician will assess the area during your free consultation and discuss your desired treatment outcomes to see if you are a good candidate for chin fillers.

Where Is Chin Filler Injected?

The location of chin filler injections will depend on the desired treatment outcomes.

For clients that want to achieve a more defined contour of the chin and jawline, the dermal filler is usually placed in the centre of the chin. This can achieve a more feminine v-shape of the lower face.

To achieve a more masculine look, dermal filler is placed strategically along the chin and jawline to square the lower face.

How Do I Prepare for Non-Surgical Chin Enhancement?

There is very little preparation required for chin filler injections. You should avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before the chin filler procedure, as this can increase the risk of bruising.

If you take any supplements or medications that could increase the risk of side effects, you should stop taking them or consult your doctor. This can include vitamin E, fish oils, aspirin, and ibuprofen.

What Is the Best Filler for the Chin?

There is a range of dermal filler products that can be used for chin augmentation. The best filler for the chin will depend on the results you want to achieve. Your clinician will examine the area and discuss the different options at your initial consultation. Generally, thicker fillers work best for the chin and jawline.

How Long Will Chin Filler Results Last?

The longevity of results from chin fillers depends on your metabolism, lifestyle, and the type of filler product used. For most people, you can expect your non-surgical chin augmentation to last for 9-12 months.

Your clinician may recommend a follow-up treatment 6 months after your initial chin filler injections to maintain your results.

What Happens When Chin Fillers Wear Off?

Over time, the dermal filler product is naturally absorbed by the body. You will need to repeat the chin filler treatment to maintain your desired results.

Chin fillers do not make the area look worse when they wear off. If you choose not to have follow-up chin augmentation injections, the area will return to its pre-treatment appearance.

How Will I Look After Chin Fillers?

You will be able to see an immediate improvement after your chin filler treatment. As with all cosmetic injectables, there will be some mild redness and swelling. These side effects should subside within 2 days of treatment.

Over the next couple of weeks, the chin fillers will settle, and you will be able to see the full treatment results. Your clinician will assess the results during your follow-up consultation and see if further chin filler is required to achieve optimal results.

Are Dermal Filler Injections Painful?

Chin filler injections are not painful. A local anaesthetic may be applied before the treatment or included with the dermal filler product. You may experience pressure as the chin filler is applied, but little to no pain.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is little to no downtime after chin filler injections. Non-surgical chin augmentation is a low-risk procedure with minimal side effects.

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner.

As with all dermal filler treatments, you may experience redness and swelling around the injection sites. These side effects should only last for 24-72 hours after chin fillers.

Your chin may feel sore and tender for a few days. If you follow the aftercare instructions provided by your clinician, your chin fillers should settle within 2 weeks of treatment.

How Long Is the Chin Filler Procedure?

The exact duration of the chin filler procedure will depend on the results you want to achieve and the number of injections and amount of filler required. For most people, non-surgical chin augmentation takes around 30 minutes.

After the chin filler injections, you can apply make-up and immediately get back to your regular routine.

How Long Does Chin Filler Take To Settle?

You will be able to see an immediate improvement after your dermal filler treatment. It takes around 2 weeks for the filler product to settle. During this time, any swelling or redness will also subside. You’ll be able to see the full effects when you visit the clinic for your treatment review.

Does Chin Filler Slim Your Face?

Chin fillers can make the face appear slimmer by sculpting the chin for a more feminine v-shape. It can also be an effective way to reduce the appearance of a cleft or double chin.

The treatment can be combined with anti-wrinkle injections to achieve a more dramatic facial slimming. The anti-wrinkle injections relax the masseter muscles in the jaw, while the dermal filler adds definition for a more streamlined and slim appearance.

Can Filler in Chin Move?

Dermal filler should not move once it has been injected. Your clinician may recommend that you gently massage the area following treatment to prevent any lumps from forming. You will also be provided with aftercare instructions to reduce the risk of the filler migrating away from the desired area.

Possible Risks and Complications

All risks and potential complications will be discussed during your complimentary consultation with your treating practitioner. It is common to experience some degree of swelling, redness, and tenderness after dermal filler injections.

Bruising may also occur. These side effects usually last less than two days, and they can be camouflaged with makeup.

Serious complications are rare but can include infections or an allergic reaction to the injected material.

A less serious (but still distressing) complication can occur if the injected filler migrates away from the injection site, gathering into bumps or lumps beneath the skin.

Usually, these lumps can be massaged to redistribute the filler. In some cases, they remain until the body absorbs the filler.

To reduce this possibility, avoid touching or rubbing your chin in the week following dermal filler injections.
